東京を拠点に活動するポストロック／インストゥルメンタルバンド。
静謐な音像と有機的に展開するダイナミズムを兼ね備えた楽曲構成が特徴で、リスナーの内面に静かに寄り添いながら揺さぶりをかける。
バンドは20XX年、Gt.オオイミナミを中心に楽曲制作を開始。
2020年にはDrs.ツナカワが正式加入し、ライブ活動を含む本格的なバンドとしての活動がスタート。2021年には、ヒソミネ大宮での初ライブ出演を皮切りに、都内近郊での演奏機会を徐々に広げていく。
2022年1月、初の音源『extended replay E.P』をデジタルリリース。
同年からは、親交のあるsunriverとの共催イベント「slow」を定期開催し、互いのレコメンドアーティストをゲストに迎える形でシーンを横断する交流を深める。
2022年11月には、自主企画「beyond the ages」を開催。
このイベントでは、バンドのルーツの一つでもあるポストロックバンドmiaouと初共演。以降親交を深め、2023年12月にはmiaouの3rdアルバム『ALL AROUND US』15周年記念ライブにて、Ba.モリノとGt.ナナミヤがゲストプレイヤーとして参加する。
2023年8月にはsunriverとのスプリットシングル『ante × sunriver』をリリース。
代表曲「AVANT」は、空間的なサウンドと攻めた展開が同居した、anteらしい1曲に仕上がっている。
2024年2月、1stフルアルバム『beyond the ages』をリリース。
レコーディング／ミックスはBa.モリノが担当し、マスタリングにはtoeの美濃隆章氏を迎える。アートワークはseamless CMとしても活動するdobashi isaoが手がけ、セルフプロデュースの強度を全面に押し出した作品となった。
リリースに伴い全国ツアー「beyond the ages tour 2024」を開催。
縁のある土地・出演者と共に構成されたツアーでは、PEEK、Attellui、synchre、1inamillion、Puff、加藤誠（sunriver / deid）、BYOKA、magi and bet、Nekomachiなどが出演。ファイナルは下北沢ERAにて、miaouとLITEを迎え、大盛況のうちに幕を閉じた。
現在も都内を中心に定期的なライブ活動を行っており、その都度アップデートされていく即興性と構築性が両立したステージングは高い評価を得ている。
2025年からは、Attelluiとの不定期フロアライブ企画「ACE」を始動。
ステージとフロアの境界をなくし、音と空間を共有するライブ体験を提案するこの企画は、より身体的かつ親密な形で音楽に触れる新たな試みとして注目を集めている。

ante is a post-rock/instrumental band based in Tokyo, Japan.
Known for their tranquil yet dynamic soundscapes, they craft music that intimately stirs the emotional core of the listener through layered textures and carefully evolving compositions.
Formed in 20XX by guitarist Ooi Minami, the band took shape in 2020 with the official addition of drummer Tsunakawa, marking the start of full-scale activity. Their live debut came in 2021 at Hisomine in Ōmiya, after which they gradually expanded their performance schedule around Tokyo.
In January 2022, ante released their first digital EP, extended replay E.P.
Later that year, they launched a collaborative live series titled "slow", co-hosted with fellow band sunriver. The event invites guest artists selected by both groups and fosters cross-scene connections.
November 2022 marked the band’s first self-curated event, "beyond the ages", where they performed with long-time influence miaou.
This encounter led to a deepened relationship, culminating in guest appearances by bassist Morino and guitarist Nanamiya at miaou’s 15th anniversary show for ALL AROUND US in December 2023.
In August 2023, ante and sunriver released a digital split single, ante × sunriver, featuring the standout track “AVANT,” which blends ambient spaciousness with bold dynamic shifts.
Their first full-length album, beyond the ages, arrived in February 2024.
Bassist Morino oversaw recording and mixing, while Takaaki Mino (toe) handled mastering. The album’s artwork was designed by dobashi isao, also known for his work under seamless CM. The release reflects a strong commitment to self-production across all creative aspects.
The album was supported by a national tour, "beyond the ages tour 2024", featuring artists such as PEEK, Attellui, synchre, 1inamillion, Puff, Makoto Kato (sunriver / deid), BYOKA, magi and bet, and Nekomachi. The final show at Shimokitazawa ERA saw ante share the stage with genre pioneers miaou and LITE.
The band continues to perform regularly, mainly in Tokyo, gaining recognition for their live performances that balance improvisation with intricate arrangements.
In 2025, ante launched a new collaborative floor-live project with Attellui called "ACE".
The series eliminates the barrier between stage and audience, offering a raw, immersive musical experience where performer and listener share the same physical and sonic space.
With further releases and collaborations in sight, ante continues to expand the scope of their sound and the depth of their musical expression.
